Become a Substitute Teacher in North Carolina

North Carolina Department of Public Instruction does not require substitute teachers to hold a substitute teaching license. Requirements are subject to change since the Individual Local Education Agency (school district or “LEA” decide on the criteria. North Carolina’s EDDIE (Educational Directory and Demographical Information Exchange) offers a full list of LEAs and charter school systems.
