In order to become a substitute teacher in the state of Nevada, applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Be an U.S. citizen or hold lawful permanent residency in the United States
- Hold a minimum of 60 semester credits or an associate’s degree earned through a regionally accredited institution, validated through submission of all official transcripts
- Submit the following documentation:
- Substitute Application Packet, available through local schools and/or districts
- $161 application fee, made payable by cashier’s check or money order to the Nevada Department of Education
- Completed FBI fingerprint card
