Info and Availability: Incoming freshman applicants must be enrolled in a baccalaureate degree
program. Applicants must intend to become an elementary or secondary school teacher in
Alaska and be enrolled in academic programs leading toward that end. The recipient must be a resident of Alaska and preference will be given to applicants in the top 25% of their graduating class.

Info and Availability: The Teacher Education Loan Program in Alaska is explicitly for rural Alaskans who wish to teach in a rural school. Rural communities are defined as those with fewer than 5,500 people and no road or rail connections to Anchorage or Fairbanks, or connected communities with fewer than 1,500 people.
