I have been an unemployed teacher for over 1 year, No teaching jobs here in Raleigh NC or surrounding areas. Applied in small town near by Henderson NC, response I received back from employer was 2 positions open and 50 applicants...That is 50 teachers that are Unemployed, NO Teaching Jobs in NC. I know experienced teachers in "critical needs" areas such as Math and Science at the Secondary level that can't find a teaching position!<br>One of the teachers i worked with was an award winning teacher with 11 years of experience , Secondary Math and Special Ed dual certifications and is on her second year of substitute teaching because she can't find a job.
