Florida Alternative Teacher Certification

Alternative Florida Teacher Certification is available either through district-specific programs, or through the Florida Alternative Teacher Certification Program. Since many districts do have their own certification programs, it is important to contact your district coordinator. The programs offer the same professional teacher certificate that standard certification programs in Florida offer; however, they are only open to current Florida public school employees. Alternative certification programs are also available through Education Preparation Institutes, certification programs run at select colleges and universities.
