Beyond that, however, every nation has its own specific ideas about how best to structure its educational system and meet the needs of the country and society as a whole. From the Far East to Western Europe to the Americas and all around the globe, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of varying educational systems and strategies. The subjects they emphasize, the amount of schooling, the role of a teacher within society, just as a start, all vary from one system to the next.

International teaching involves understanding and following these cultural and national beliefs while simultaneously working to achieve the general goal mentioned in the first sentence of this page.  It can be a difficult process for teachers in a new country, surrounded by unfamiliarity.
