How To Use a Flip Cam in the Classroom

Posted on April 2nd, 2010 in General Interest, Social Media for Education, Teachers | Comments
Readers of Free Technology for Teachers crowdsourced what I believe to be a fascinating presentation how to use a flip cam for interesting classroom activities. I'm unable to embed the presentation, but you can find the link here.

A few of the ideas included:

  • Have junior high students plan a video tour of their school for the upcoming elementary students.

  • Students Record and Share Math Tips

  • Students Evaluate Their Own Behavior and Determine Strategies to Increase Learning

  • Encourage students to video each other being interviewed for a fictitious job & then play back videos for peer and self assessment.

I'd suggest flipping through the presentation and adding some of your own suggestions in the comment section. If you need a flip cam, they can be found semi-inexpensively here.

I have applied for a digital learning microgrant for my kindergarten classroom to win a flipcam digital video recorder and money enough to purchase a minilaptop to use with my students at a Viewing Station. I'm really excited about this opportunity and I would love for you to vote for my project at:

Click the green button "click here to vote"
    Then search for "kindergarteners"
Click "vote for me" after you view my project proposal

Thank you in advance for your support! I would SO appreciate if you could pass this information on to others who would be willing to vote for my project, too. I need all the help I can get! Thanks again!
